In May 2011, Ross Smith and Lachlan Maltby formed Smith & Maltby Accountants, located at 17 Hargraves Street, Castlemaine, Victoria.
Our foundations have been built on a desire to provide exceptional services to our client base. We establish, build and maintain our relationships to provide our business, accounting and taxation services to the highest standards.
Ross and Lachlan’s experience and qualifications have developed an outstanding partnership which is servicing a wide client base in Australia and overseas. Where required we utilise local facilities and services to assist our client base. We ensure our associates provide excellent standards when we seek professional services.
With a combined 35 years’ experience in the taxation and business consulting areas, our team now offer various taxation and accounting services to our client base.
We also offer services for setting up your Xero account, conversion and training, including ongoing support.
MEET THE TEAM
Lachlan Maltby
Lachlan has completed a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) at La Trobe University and the Institute of Chartered Accountants course. Lachlan specialises in taxation and business services for small to large businesses and has 20 years Public Practice experience.
Lachlan is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and is a Registered Tax Agent.
Ross Smith
Ross has a strong background in the banking and financial services industry that has seen him gain over 30 years experience in Public Practice. Ross services a wide ranging client base in accounting and taxation services.
Ross holds a Masters in Business Administration (Professional Accounting), a Diploma of Financial Services, is a member of the Institute of Public Accountants and a Registered Tax Agent.
Brett Cole
Brett has completed a Bachelor of Business at La Trobe University. Since graduating Brett has accumulated over 20 years’ worth of experience in industry and public practice.
Brett has excellent knowledge of Xero and can provide assistance with taxation and accounting services.
Brooke Williams
Brooke joined Smith & Maltby Accountants in 2014 while completing her Bachelor of Business (Accounting) at La Trobe University.
After graduating, she transitioned into an Accountant role and has continued to develop her knowledge and expertise.
Belinda Kraulis
Belinda commenced with the Smith & Maltby team in July 2017 upon the move to our larger offices in Hargraves Street. Belinda is the friendly face you will see at reception and manages our office administration.
Kate joined Smith & Maltby Accountants in an administration role, and has since progressed into the accounting team while undertaking her Bachelor of Accounting at La Trobe University.
